Estonia

2 April 2019

His Majesty the King travels to Estonia, accompanied by the Minister of Defense, for a working visit to the detachment of Belgian soldiers at Tapa. Since 2017, Belgium has been participating in NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence mission. This year, our country will send two detachments of approximately 250 soldiers each to strengthen the British Battle Group in Estonia. In the Baltic States and Poland, NATO maintains a permanent presence through four international battle groups.

Before going to Tapa, the King first meets with President Kersti Kaljulaid in Tallinn and visits the e-Estonia briefing center where remarkable advances are made to facilitate interactions between citizens, businesses and the State through maximum use of digital technology.
